Alejandro (Alex) Justiniani, of Lewes, Del., was recently named Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Member of the Year for Delaware.
Presented in late February during the 2012 PTR International Tennis Symposium in Orlando, Fla., this award recognizes the PTR member who demonstrates dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.
Justiniani is the Head Professional and Junior Coordinator of Sea Colony Tennis Center, a Top 50 tennis resort in the United States (Tennis Magazine) and Top 25 tennis camp (Tennis Resorts Online), located just south of Bethany Beach, Del. He is one of only a handful of teaching pros to earn Professional level of certification in all three PTR Pathways – Junior Development, Adult Development and Performance. He is also certified to teach wheelchair tennis and Cardio Tennis.
Justiniani started the Sea Colony Junior Tennis Academy, which has grown from two students to more than 100 in just three years. He has also implemented a solid 10 & Under Tennis program.
Justiniani also established March Madness, a charity event for Tennis Night in America that benefits The Boys and Girls Club and Special Olympics Delaware. He aspires to continue growing tennis in the Delmarva area and developing future top junior and adult players.
