UPDATE – Bethany Beach replenishment project now as far north as Oceanview Parkway

Bethany Beach Beach replenishment project continues work in the area of Oceanview Parkway.

Through today, the beach replenishment project in Bethany Beach has progressed past the north end of the Boardwalk to the area of Oceanview Parkway, just in front of the Addy Sea. Plans for the Sea Colony beach replenishment project remain unchanged, with work in that seaside resort community’s beach expected to begin in November.

Beach replenishment news this week:
Coastal Point: Dune height causing concern
The Delaware Wave: Concerns mount over dune height

Note: Prior to this project, Bethany Beach proper had no continuous protective dune, so these issues of height are now coming to the forefront. Sea Colony already has a protective dune in place – and has for years.

A new wide beach will be in place for the summer of 2008. Reserve your spot on The Premier Family Beach & Tennis Resort Community’s beach with a Sea Colony vacation rental from ResortQuest.
