UPDATE – Bethany Beach replenishment progressing, sand pumped north to First Street

As of an hour ago, the beach replenishment effort had extended to First Street, just a block shy of the north end of the Bethany Beach Boardwalk. Sand from the dredge ships is being piped to the shore and heavy equipment is piling it up into dunes along the Boardwalk, awaiting more work to distribute and grade it over the beach. On Sept. 26, the project had progressed to just north of the southern end of the Bethany Beach Boardwalk, in the general area of Hollywood Street.

Work on Sea Colony’s beach, weather permitting, to expected to start in November and be complete by year’s end.
