(Charles) Dexter MacBride joins the nationally and globally renowned Sea Colony Tennis Center as its third full-time teaching professional, bringing a wealth of experience to his position as Adult Tennis Coordinator.
MacBride is United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified, with 23 years of coaching experience. He has traveled throughout the world with top players on the pro circuit, as well as nationally and sectionally-ranked junior players, including eight No. 1-rated Southern California and Mid-Atlantic players.

As a player, he has earned No. 1 national rankings in his age groups by United States Tennis Association (USTA), Middle Atlantic Tennis Section (MATS) and Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA) in his respective age groups. He played in the U.S. Open, French Open and Australian Open and reached the top 400 in the world in singles and top 200 in doubles.
“Dexter will be a great asset to our tennis program, and will be working closely with Junior Coordinator and Delaware Pro of the year, Alex Justiniani and me,” said Thomas Johnston, USPTA, Sea Colony’s Tennis Director. “His teaching and playing expertise will elevate our program to even greater heights.”
MacBride has established charitable tournaments that generated more than $100,000 for cancer research; and overseen tennis operations at country clubs in Maryland, California and Oklahoma.
Sea Colony Tennis has earned national global honors, including being named a Top 50 resort and the No. 13 tennis camp in the world, as well as the No. 4 for the best overall children’s programs and No. 5 for best junior programs, by Tennis.ResortsOnline.com, an online publication whose rankings are determined by experienced tennis players. Sea Colony was ranked earlier this year by Tennis magazine, which listed the resort community among its Top 50 American Resorts, including No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic region.
